Student Minister Abdullah Muhammad
Student Minister Abdullah Muhammad is the National Prison Reform Director of the Honorable Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. Concerning Student Minister Abdullah Muhammad, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan stated, "he possesses the spirit of Allah, and is a born teacher, minister, captain, lieutenant, investigator and warrior; everything we need rolled up in one man."
A native of Chicago, Il. , Student Minister Abdullah Muhammad grew up in a well bonded family (headed mostly by females), rich in moral standards and principles. The eldest of five children, he learned the value of responsibility and leadership at a young age. Bro Abdullah Muhammad attended Hales Franciscan High School and Phillips High School during the turbulent sixties. His spirit of activism was ignited when he experienced personal injustice while protesting injustices against his people.
After various encounters with law enforcement, he was incarcerated for five years, which included county jail and penitentiary time. It was during his county jail time that he met Brother Leotis X Beasley, the only follower of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s teachings under the Guidance of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. This event proved to be the turning point in his life. Brother Abdullah received an early release from prison because of his strong representation of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s teachings. Upon his release, Minister Abdullah Muhammad joined the Nation of Islam and became a Championship Drill Instructor for headquarters Chicago Mosque #2. In addition, Brother Abdullah became the First officer at Mosque #2.
In 1990, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan commissioned him as his NOI Student National Prison Reform Minister. Brother Abdullah periodically lectures at Mosque Maryam, which is the National Headquarters of the Nation of Islam, he has lectured at numerous prisons, colleges, community events and NOI Mosques in America and at NOI Mosque in England.
A popular speaker among the youth and those incarcerated, Minister Abdullah Muhammad serves as a motivator, disciplinarian and helper of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in transforming the lives of formerly troubled persons into productive and respectful ones.
Brother Student Minister Abdullah has been married to Sister Colzetta Muhammad for 33 years and has eleven (11) children along with eleven (12) grandchildren.
